Just who the heck is Chip Ottinger?
|
Hi! My name is Nolen Ray Ottinger III, but all my friends call me "Chip". I used to belong to a duo called Stardust, The Model City Boys and, finally, Ottinger/
Lyons. Well, that's the past and it's time to move on... so, I'm now writing and performing on my own. The purpose of this website is to allow all my fans to get a first-hand chance to hear my songs before they become available anywhere else. It will even possible to order my albums on cassette and CD direct from me!

So, where do you get your ideas for songs?
|
Well, I get them from all sorts of places! They may come from a phrase I've heard (in conversation or in a song), the way I feel at the moment or, as often as not, just a sudden inspiration that hits me from out of the blue. Whatever the source, I try to put my feelings into every song that I write. Whether they are good or not, I'll leave up to you. I believe there's always room for one more songwriter and I hope that you'll like what you find here.

What are your plans for the future?
|
Well, I just got a Tascam 488 MK II analog home recording studio (I had a Roland digital studio, but I found that the 100 MB Zip disks [for storage]didn't give much recording time. I hope to start recording my solo material soon but, until then, I'll be working with some of my old MCB's stuff (to get acquainted with my new studio). I'll try to keep this site updated so those who are interested can know what's going on.
